Truchas peaks 4 day hike

The map was helpful for planning. Also downloaded an app version through Avenza with the GPS feature which turned out to be super helpful. Hiked the Winsor trail and western section of the Skyline trial from Santa Fe Ski basin NB to Santa Barbara Canyon. There were 2 sections of trail that were just about impassable due to severe extended blowdown areas - one around Lake Katherine and the other east of Horsethief meadow. Most of these blowdowns looked to be several years old, and many were very difficult to navigate and climb over with big packs. Personally think both sections of trail should be closed until extensive chainsaw work is done - especially the 3+ mile section between Horsethief meadow and Rito Perro trail, as it was dangerous and almost impossible to find any trace of the trail at all. It would be really nice if the maps were updated with information informing hikers about these kind of trail conditions.
